The Bonhams motorcycle department is continuing to expand in 2018 as it welcomes two new consultants, Greg Pullen and Dave Hancock. Both bring an encyclopedic knowledge and decades of expertise in the classic and collectors’ motorcycle world.
Greg Pullen worked as a chartered surveyor until 2009 when he pursued his interest in Italian motorcycles. His lifelong affair with all things two-wheeled began much earlier, as Greg has been a Ducati fan since childhood. He has owned countless Italian motorcycles, and has competed in no fewer than four Motogiro d’Italia. Greg is a respected authority on motorcycles, having been published in Classic Bike, Classic Bike Guide and Bike alongside his very own publication, Benzina. He is also the author of three books, focusing on Ducati Desmodue, Moto Guzzi and Honda V4s. Greg will be based in the Wiltshire area, and is available immediately to conduct auction appraisals and valuations as necessary
Dave Hancock has been riding motorcycles since the impressive age of 8, and began his career as a mechanic in Newcastle as a teenager. His road racing career began when he was 20 and continued for 4 years until he retired from the track and instead worked alongside it as a Grand Prix mechanic to Charlie Williams and Steve Parrish at Mitsui Yamaha. From the late 80s onwards, Dave was inextricably linked to Honda and worked in sales, business development and product planning. In 1990, he was appointed as one of only 3 non-Japanese Development riders for Japan R&D, an enterprise which he supports and advises to this day. Dave was recently awarded the British Dealer News Industry Award for Services to the Motorcycle and Scooter Industry, as well as the 2017 MCN Dave Taylor Lifetime Achievement award, testaments to his knowledge, passion and dedication to the motorcycle world. Dave is based in the Home Counties area, and is available immediately to conduct auction appraisals and valuations as necessary.
Ben Walker, International Head of Department, commented: ‘I am delighted that Greg and Dave have joined our ever-growing team of experts. They strengthen our knowledge base and will be great assets to our clients, as well as expanding our reach throughout the UK.’
