Product Description
BSA built over 100,000 unit twins in the 1960s and early 1970s. They were hugley popular on both sides of the Atlantic and Thunderbolts & Lightning tells the story of those road machines. Hailwood to Vincent is a continuation of that story, covering the little told competition history of the unit twins. Often overlooked in the annals of motorcycle sport the A65/50 took far more wins and championships than is commonly believed. Seven British National championships, a TT and the coveted AMA #1 plate and title were among them. But so too were countless individual victories along with a host of 'what if' stories.
As with Thunderbolts and Lightning volume 11 tells the story from the perspective of those directly involved and is based on interviews carried out with BSA factory employees, tuners, sponsers and racers. It also contains a wealth of documentation and period photography, much of which has never been seen before.
