Isle of Man TT The Golden Years 1913-1939 – Mick Duckworth
The Isle of Man TT races have a longer continuous history than any of the world’s other great motor sport events. First run in 1907, The Tourist Trophy started out as a test for production motorcycles that would encourage makers to improve performance and reliability. The Island’s government was already willing to close public roads for cars races, including the RAC’s Tourist Trophy.
The photos in this book document a quarter of a century of racing from the early days of the Mountain Course in 1913 to the last TT before World War Two in 1939. All were taken by the Douglas based Keig photographic business, whose camera operators gathered thousands of TT images.
