Portmeirion pottery evolved from a souvenir shop in North Wales into a twenty-first-century global business thanks to Susan Williams-Ellis. This entailed transforming kitchens and dining rooms from the 1960s onwards using the Botanic Garden pattern she introduced in 1972. This combined antique flower prints with contemporary shapes and is the firms most successful creation. As the company moves forwards Will Farmer and Rob Higgins tell the story of Portmeirion and illustrate many of Williams-Elliss collectable design classics.
